Dr. Katarina Nikolic was born on 04.02.1975. in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. She completed gymnasium in Ruma in 1993, and graduated at Faculty of Pharmacy University of Belgrade in 1998, with an average mark 9.23.

In 1999 she was awarded as the best student of generation at Faculty of Pharmacy for the academic 1997/98 year.

In 2001 she completed Master study at Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade and defended Master thesis: "Application of near infrared spectroscopy for the quantitative analysis of hydrocortisone sodium succinate for injection", mentor Professor Ubavka Mioč, Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade.

From 2001 to 2005 she participated as a Research Assistant on international project "Synthesis, anticancer and antioxidant activities of mixed selenium - tocopherol antioxidants", principal investigator Professor Anastasios Keramidas, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Nicosia, Cyprus.

In 2007 she defended PhD thesis: "Molecular modeling and in vitro antioxidant properties of phenilselenosuccinyl-α-tocopheryl esters with potential antiproliferative activities", mentor Professor Danica Agbaba, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Analysis, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade.

Since 2007 she has worked as an Assistant on Pharmaceutical Chemistry II and III courses at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

From year 2012 Dr. Katarina Nikolic was employed Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade.

Since 2017 Dr. Katarina Nikolic is employed as Associate Professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade.

Since 2007 she participates at the research projects of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, principal investigator Professor Danica Agbaba, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade (142071, 172033). From year 2010 she is also involved in national research project of Institute of Nuclear Sciences - Vinča, University of Belgrade (173001).

Dr. Katarina Nikolic was involved in three FP7/COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) international project CM0603 (2008-2011), CM1103 (2011-2015) and CM1207 (2013-2017).

She is currently involved in three Horison 2020/COST projects: CA15135, CA16205, and CM1406 Epichembio http://epichembio.eu/

The main scientific research areas of Dr. Katarina Nikolic include: molecular modeling, QSAR, QSPR, QSRR, 3D-pharmacophore modeling, computer-aided drug design, virtual docking, virtual screening, molecular dynamic, lead optimisation, synthesis, in vitro/in silico ADMET screening, and application of chemometric methods for analytical methods development (HPLC, UPLC, HP-TLC, CE, LC-MS). Her research is focused on development of new antihypertensives, anticancer compounds and drugs for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Katarina Nikolic has published seventy five manuscripts in international scientific journals and one international monography. She has held more than ten oral presentations at international conferences.
