He began his professional career at the Institute for Medical Research of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, where he completed his specialization in Immunology in 1998 with an excellent grade.

He defended his master's thesis entitled "Induction of Apoptosis of Thymocyte Hybridomas" at the Faculty of Medicine in 2000, and his doctoral dissertation on "Interaction of Thymocytes and Thymic Epithelial Cells In Vitro" at the Military Medical Academy in 2002.

He continued his professional training in the USA, at the University of Picburg, where in the period from 2002 to 2009 he participated in several research projects within the framework of basic and clinical trials and dealt with the role of the immune system in various pathophysiological conditions. He was the main researcher on the project "Citrulline-rich immunonutritive therapy in trauma".

He has actively participated in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
