CV

Dragan Prekrat was born in 1982 in Pančevo, Serbia. He obtained a BSc degree in 2009 and a PhD in 2023 from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Physics.  

From 2011 to 2022, Dragan Prekrat was employed at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Physics within the framework of the government-funded national research project No. 171031, Physical Implications of Modified Spacetime, first as a junior research assistant, and since 2017 as a research assistant. During this period, he also worked as a part-time physics teacher in the Mathematical Highschool Belgrade (2013/2014) and as a junior teaching assistant at the Department of Physics and Mathematics at the University of Belgrade –  Faculty of Pharmacy (2014-2022), where he became a teaching assistant for the Physics course in 2022 and a teaching assistant with PhD in 2023.

During his PhD studies he visited LMU Munich (2010-2011) and DIAS Dublin (2017 and 2018, COST Action MP1405). He is a member of the Group for Gravitation, Particles, and Fields at the Institute of Physics Belgrade, the Center for Quantum Theoretical Physics at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Physics, and also collaborates with the noncommutative quantum field theory group from the Comenius University in Bratislava. He also represents the CEEPUS node at the Department of Physics and Mathematics. He participated in more than 15 international schools and conferences, gave 2 conference presentations, and helped organize the GR100 Centennial of General Relativity event (2015).

Dragan Prekrat is (co-)author of 5 publications in leading international journals and 2 textbooks and has h-index 2. His research areas are noncommutative quantum field theory, matrix models, phase transitions and Monte Carlo simulations.
