Marina Milenković graduated in 1988 at the School of Medicine, University of Belgrade with an average score of 9.61. During her studies she was a scholarship holder of the Republic foundation for scientific and artistic youth of Serbia. She was awarded a Master of Science title in 1993 and medical specialization in 1998 at the School of Medicine. She defended her PhD dissertation in 2002 at Faculty of Pharmacy,University of Belgrade.

As a full time professor of Microbiology, Immunology and Immunochemistry she has been teaching since 2013. She was a head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology from 2010 to 2013. From 2015 to 2018 she was Vice Dean for Teaching. She is member of Faculty Council and Quality Commission and a head of the Laboratory for microbiological investigations. Marina Milenković is involved in the realisation of integrated academic studies in Microbiology, Selected Topics in Microbiology and Laboratory Microbiology. She also takes part in the realisation of doctoral academic studies, specialised professional studies in Medical Biochemistry, Biochemical Diagnostics, Sanitary Chemistry, Biological Drugs, Industrial Pharmacy and Release of Medicinal Products on the Market. She is the head of Short program of studies Farmaceutical Microbiologyy. She is co-author o two textbooks and one handbook of microbiology. Since 1996 Marina Milenković was involved in four national projects. Currently she is participating in the Eureka–Greentech project: Active substances from supercritical plant extracts for high value added products. She was a mentor of three defended doctoral dissertations, more than 200 final thesis, the member of Commission for the defense of 13 doctoral dissertations.

Research interest: antimicrobial activity of chemical compounds, nanoparticles and plant products, virulence factors expression in multi-resistant bacteria and immunomodulatory properties of probiotic microorganisms.

She published 116 papers which have been cited 1362 times (without autocitations) and h-index is 20.
