Jelena Petrović was born in 1988. in Kraljevo, Serbia. She finished elementary school „Đura Daničić“ and First Gymnasium in Belgrade, where she gained ''Vuk Karadžić'' diploma. She graduated at Faculty of Pharmacy (program Master of Pharmacy), University of Belgrade in 2013, with an average grade 9.06. During her studies she was awarded with the scholarship from the Serbian Ministry of Education and Sports and the Foundation ''Dragoljub Marinković''. In 2013 she started her PhD studies in Pharmacology at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. She has been employeed at the Department of Physiology since 2013, first as Teaching Associate, and since 2016 as Teaching Assistant and she teaches practical lessons on three subjects (Physiology 1, Physiology 2 and Physiology: Selected Chapters) students on integrated academic studies. She spent 8 months at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden), at Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Section Pharmocogenetics and that was part of Erasmus+ mobility programme. During that time she was a guest and a member of prof. Magnus Ingelman-Sundberg’ s research group and she worked with 3D model of cardiomyocytes’ cell culture. Up-to-date, Jelena Petrović has published 5 scientific papers in international journals: 3 in journals classified as M21, 1 in journal classified as M22 and 1 in journal classified as M23. She has won ECNP CDE grant in 2015 and ECNP seminar award in 2016. Her research interests include: animal models of depression; neuroendocrine changes and changes in myocardial structure and functions in rats exposed to chronic stress.
